PRSA Accreditation

Accreditation for
Public Relations Professionals

About one-third of PRSA/SENE Chapter members have earned the Accredited in Public Relations (APR) designation -- one of the highest APR/Chapter member ratios in the country.

This voluntary certification program for public relations professionals aims to unify and advance the profession by identifying those who have demonstrated their knowledge, experience and judgment in planning and managing public relations activities. Successful completion of the Accreditation process results in the awarding of the APR designation to qualified public relations professionals.

Value of Accreditation

Having the APR designation after your name demonstrates a serious commitment to the profession, to corporate management, colleagues and clients. Plus, preparing for Accreditation helps you broaden, validate and refresh your knowledge abut public relations research, planning, law, ethics, history and more.

From time to time, the Chapter also offers an invaluable APR preparation class and study sessions. These programs explain the Accreditation process (which consists of a written and oral exam) and you'll discover what you will need to know in order to pass the APR exam.

Thinking about becoming Accredited in Public Relations? If you're a PRSA member and
have five years of full-time public relations experience, it is never to early to start planning.
