Area Professionals Elected to PRSA/SENE Board of
Directors
Providence, R.I. - Nine area public relations professionals have
been elected to the Board of Directors of the Public Relations
Society of America, Southeastern New England Chapter. The
chapter’s membership elected the new board at the group’s annual
meeting held recently in Providence.
Robert Beadle
of Central Falls, R.I., president,
Northeast Public Relations, Inc., will serve as the board’s
president and chair the website committee; Frank Prosnitz
of Warwick, R.I., president & owner, Prosnitz
Communications, was elected as president-elect and will also
chair the new members committee;
Andrea Barbosa
Fortier
of Swansea,
Mass., manager, pr/social impact, (add)ventures, will serve
as secretary and chair the program/professional development
committee; and
Amie Picard
of
Providence, R.I., senior public affairs manager, Citizens
Bank, is treasurer. Serving as directors are Charlene
Ferranti of Ledyard, Conn., public relations officer,
Washington Trust, who will chair the public relations and
advocacy committees;
Shawna Hassett of
North Providence, R.I., account executive, Duffy & Shanley,
will chair the new/young professionals committee; Tracy
MacMillan of Coventry, R.I., marketing retention,
Metlife Auto & Home, will chair the member retention committee;
and
Barbara Trainor
of Providence, R.I., media coordinator, Office of the
Governor Donald L. Carcieri, will chair the communications
committee.
Courtney Guertin
of Bristol,
R.I., public relations specialist, LIN TV, is the chapter’s
immediate past president, and will chair the bylaws committee.
The Southeastern New England Chapter of
the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA/SENE) (www.prsasene.org),
founded in 1982, was established to unify, strengthen and
advance the profession of public relations in the region while
building value, demand and global understanding for public
relations. The Chapter’s membership is composed of PR
