Area Professionals Elected to PRSA/SENE Board of Directors 

Providence, R.I. - Nine area public relations professionals have been elected to the Board of Directors of the Public Relations Society of America, Southeastern New England Chapter. The chapter’s membership elected the new board at the group’s annual meeting.

Andrea Fortier, of Swansea, Mass., assistant director, marketing/strategy, (add)ventures, will serve as the board’s president; Scott Fraser, of North Scituate, R.I., principal, Fraser Communications Group, was elected president-elect and will serve as treasurer; and Barbara Trainor, of Providence, R.I., will serve as secretary.

The newly elected directors are: Theresa Downing, of Portsmouth, R.I., who will chair the public relations and communications committee; Jeff Lavery, of Pawtucket, R.I., account manager, Rhino Public Relations, who will chair the new/young professionals committee; Emily Hollenbeck, of Providence, R.I., account executive, Duffy & Shanley, who will serve as chapter administrator; Chet Lasell, of East Greenwich, R.I., principal, Greenwich Bay Public Relations, who will chair the programming committee; Lisa Shorr, of Pawtucket, R.I., PC Troubleshooters, who will chair the website committee, Michael Cerio, of West Cranston, R.I., communications manager, Rhode Island Community Food Bank, who will chair the membership committee.

Frank Prosnitz, of East Greenwich, R.I., president and owner, Prosnitz Communications, is the chapter’s immediate past president.

The Public Relations Society of America, based in New York City, is the world's largest organization for public relations professionals. The Society has nearly 32,000 professional and student members. PRSA is organized into more than 100 Chapters nationwide, 19 Professional Interest Sections and Affinity Groups, which represent business and industry, counseling firms, independent practitioners, military, government, associations, hospitals, schools, professional services firms and nonprofit organizations.
